Chicken or the egg dilemma

Chicken or the egg dilemma

Howdy,

In today's opinion piece Peggy Noonan offers some good suggestions for Democrats.

Opinion | Snap Out of It, Democrats — The Wall Street Journal
On Tuesday they looked as if they aren’t going to win for a long time. That’s dangerous for America.

I don't agree with everything Peggy wrote. But I do love this:

"Keep going to town halls in small and medium-size towns and listen, listen, listen.".

Power is never ceded without demand. Democrats won't snap out of it until they're forced to. That happens by hearing what their constituents have to say IRL. It's not gonna happen in email or on social media. But if people don't come to town hall meetings their voices can't be felt by their Democratic representatives. Nothing happens.

Those of us on the left should not be focused on tearing down Democrats. Instead, we should be entirely focused on getting Democrats to hear and feel us. Neither of which can happen over the wire and can only happen IRL.

I hope to see you at a town hall citizens meeting.

Thanks Peggy.

tty next time,
